The basis of this challenge was to read about someone else's BBF (Book Boyfriend), and I understand why Thomas would qualify. Book #8 in the Argeneau Vampire series, and Marguerite, the matriarch of the family is still missing, believed to be in England. As her only daughter was due to give birth and Marguerite hasn't checked in, all the family is very worried. Thomas, her nephew, but raised by her is the only one immediately available to go to England and start the search, the others will comeThomas has found the one for him.

Maybe it's because I jumped in to the series at book 8 (for a group challenge read), but this just fell utterly flat for me. The dialogue was stilted and varied between formal and silly slang. The mystery that had everyone on edge wasn't really a mystery at all and was just brushed aside by the end of the book. The vampires seemed somewhat weak with no blood-lust or savagery too them that so often lends to their 'danger appeal.' Inez was kind of a dud as were most of the other women in this
