Narrative In Pursuance Of Books Ichabod Wolfe

'Ichabod Wolfe' by Frank Fiordalisi has become my new benchmark for Western fiction. Since studying the American West back in High School, I have retained an interest in this period of history, leading to a love of the Western genre of fiction. I have to say Fiordalisi has really captured the feel and the landscape of the Wild West, with his great descriptive powers. You can almost feel the dust in the air, and smell the gunpowder as it burns, with the firing of giant handguns. In the time where outlaws ruled with violence and intimidation, young Ichabod Wolf finds himself alone after the murder of his family. It would be hard enough to survive on the plains of Kansas alone, but he also has men that seek to kill him too. Can he save himself and the woman he loves, by solving the brutal killing of his family, and bring the killers to justice? It is a hard journey for Ichabod, but many don't count on his intelligence and tenacity. This novel is captivating from the first few pages and it is a clever blend of historical and mystery genres of fiction. A great read that I highly recommend.

Judgment Based On Books Ichabod Wolfe

I'm not someone who read many westerns until Robert B. Parker wrote a couple. I was a big fan of Parker's detective Spenser and enjoyed his Cole and Hitch western novels and somewhat those of his successor Robert Knott who continued the series after Parker's death. Now, I'm not comparing Frank Fiordalisi to Parker, they have two different styles. I'm only making it clear that I haven't read any of the traditional western novelists like Zane Grey or Louis L'amour, so my reading experience is

This is the first novel by Frank Fiordalisi, former police officer in the Miami-Dade County Police Department. I met Frank through the Writer's Alliance of Gainesville and found the book jacket appealing, even though westerns aren't usually my thing. Within a few pages, I knew this was one of those books to savor. Ichabod is young and vulnerable in the beginning and it's easy to worry for his well-being. I felt a matronly concern initially--changing to proud parent as he grew.Midway through the

Even if you're not into Westerns, you'll love this book. It begins in Kansas at the start of the Civil War, when young Ichabod is orphaned by an attack on his family, and follows him through maturity. Ichabod eventually becomes a lawman who uses forensic techniques to solve crimes. This is a character-driven story, and the people portrayed are believable. It is also exciting, a book that's hard to put down. The author was himself a law enforcement officer. In addition to his experience and'Ichabod Wolfe' by Frank Fiordalisi has become my new benchmark for Western fiction. I don't usually read a lot of historical fiction, tending to stick to thrillers or crime novels. However, the reviews of Ichabod Wolfe promised a crime novel in a historical setting the Wild West. It seemed the perfect choice to start to expand the genres on my book shelf. I'm pleased to report that author Frank Fiordalisi, manages to draw you right into the novel within the first chapter. I immediately became invested in protagonist, 13-year-old orphan Ichabod. Tragically losing his parents to
