Commentary In Favor Of Books The Chosen (Black Dagger Brotherhood #15)
Xcor, leader of the Band of Bastards, convicted of treason against the Blind King, is facing a brutal interrogation and torturous death at the hands of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. Yet after a life marked by cruelty and evil deeds, he accepts his soldier’s fate, his sole regret the loss of a sacred female who was never his: the Chosen Layla.Layla alone knows the truth that will save Xcor’s life. But revealing his sacrifice and his hidden heritage will expose them both and destroy everything Layla holds dear—even her role of mother to her precious young. Torn between love and loyalty, she must summon the courage to stand up against the only family she has for the only man she will ever love. Yet even if Xcor is somehow granted a reprieve, he and Layla would have to confront a graver challenge: bridging the chasm that divides their worlds without paving the way for a future of even greater war, desolation, and death.
As a dangerous old enemy returns to Caldwell, and the identity of a new deity is revealed, nothing is certain or safe in the world of the Black Dagger Brotherhood, not even true love... or destinies that have long seemed set in stone.

First, that cover? No.Much better. (Please don't steal or edit this artwork. Thankies!)XcorLayla*sigh*Second, let me start with what I enjoyed and talk about the featured couple since they deserve the praise and attention that other things seemed to have eclipsed and overshadowed them with.Xcor & LaylaLovely, sweet, beautiful, honest, brave, fearless. Funny how they have been pitted as the underdogs and bad guys by both the Brotherhood and readers alike who have hated this couple and yetUpdate:Sorry, after taking a few hours to digest what I've read, I must lower this star rating from my knee jerk (because I love this author) 5 Star rating to a 3. I won't post spoilers till after this has been out for awhile, but will say, I feel as if some of the events that happened in The Chosen needed MORE in order for forgivness to be given. My original unease has intensified the more I think on it :(..................Original thoughts after reading:Wow, talk about an emotional roller
4.5 ★'s "You have saved me, and the only thing greater than my love for you is my gratitude."As is the new usual for the BDB books, this story deals with Xcor and Layla's relationship, however, that is only a very small part of the book and there are multiple threads involved. And that was unfortunate because I really came to like Xcor, someone I didn't really care for since we met him. I just have to say that I love his softer side and his past will break your heart. That doesn't mean that I
5 Stars!!!!!! The Chosen is the book all BDB fans have been waiting for for years! I know I have. I had such high hopes for this book and was a little nervous to start it, but I can say with absolute certainly, it did not disappoint! In fact, its for sure in my top 5 BDB books. I loved it so much! Ever since Xcor came on the scene, I was intrigued by him. I know he wasnt a good guy at first, but with time and love, he changed. His and Laylas story was complicated and honestly, I wasnt sure if
Wow. What a crazy, train wreck ride! What else would you expect from the Brotherhood?I have to come clean and admit I've never been a Xcor fan and have hated Layla's duplicity about her relationship with him. Because these stories have a multitude of storylines, I wasn't concerned about these two characters being the major focus as I was counting on the others to hold my interest. Xcor launched into this series as a cruel and brutal man, no way was there any possibility he could redeem himself
What an unmitigated complete and utter FUBAR of a book.
